Tide Receding From Pleasure Bay

Pleasure Bay is an artificial bay near Castle Island in South Boston. A crescent-shaped human-made walkway extends out into the harbor from Castle Island to the end of Columbia Road. This walkway is essentially a large dam with small bridges that allow the ocean to fill and empty into the artificial bay as the tides change. A significant current is created by the compression of water into these small outlets. The above view is looking out into Boston Harbor as the tide recedes.
