A view of the Hatch Shell from the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge. Home of free concerts and movies during the summer. Arther Fiedler conducted the Boston Pops Orchestra in the famous concert of July 4th, 1976. A million people were in the area. This author got stuck in a massive crowd on Storrow Drive that day, and decided to watch the concert on television. There were wall to wall concertgoers from Leverett Circle to Mass Ave. |
