A Colonial Gravestone At King's Chapel Burying Ground

Ancient Marker At King's Chapel Burying Ground

A Boston resident passed away in 1699 at the age of 55 and is buried here at King's Chapel. His gravestone has a central carving of a skull with angel wings, symbolizing death and the flight to the hereafter. The left and right pillars also have carvings of what appear to be angel wings, with two cross-bones encircled at the top.
