Colonel William Prescott Statue, Bunker Hill

Colonel William Prescott Statue

William Prescott is one of the heroes of the Battle Of Bunker Hill. It is believed he made the famous command "Don't fire til you see the whites of their eyes!" to conserve precious ammunition. When the first shots were fired a few of the provincial troops ran away, and Colonel Prescott jumped upon the parapet and walked as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening, greatly inspiring his troops. Prescott's statue stands at the base of the Bunker Hill Monument.
