Josiah Quincy Statue, Old City Hall

Josiah Quincy is known as the Great Mayor in history due to the many reforms he undertook in office. He is best known for constructing Quincy Market during his administration (1823-1828). At the time, the area east of Dock Square was comprised of dilapidated wharfs. The statue stands in the front courtyard of Old City Hall, opposite the statue of Ben Franklin.
