An enlarged view of the old Custom House and Long Wharf. The dome of the Custom House can be seen on the right, before the tower was added in 1913. Just east of the Custom House, or closer to the waterfront, is the State Street Block. On the left near the ocean is Long Wharf. The Chart House building looks exactly the same today as it did in the 1870s. This photo was taken from the State House cupola. |
