"The division of Hematology and Oncology offers a
large clinical program that emphasizes the diagnosis and management of hematologic disorders and neoplastic diseases. Specific areas of emphasis
include high-dose chemotherapy and autologous bone marrow transplantation
for Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, breast cancer and small cell
carcinoma of the lung. Interdisciplinary clinical programs provide
comprehensive consultations and care for patients with pulmonary, cutaneous,
genitourinary (including prostate), kidney, and breast neoplasms. This
includes conventional treatments, as well as novel therapies employing tumor
vaccines, auto-angiogenic agents and newly developing chemotherapeutic
drugs. Special expertise is available for patients with coagulation
problems, thrombotic disorders, patients with AIDS-related cancers and
patients with porphyria."
