Rich Pumpkin Pie Recipe
Boston Molasses Recipes, 1920s

2 cups strained pumpkins
2 cups scalded milk
2 eggs
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup sugar

 

Beat eggs until thick. Combine with pumpkin, molasses, and sugar. Add spice, salt, and milk. Turn into a deep 6 inch pie plate lined with crust. Bake in hot oven 450 degrees Fahrenheit, for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and slow oven bake for about 35 minutes.
