Dudley Street Terminal, 1906

Dudley Street Station, 1906

A view of the original Dudley Street Terminal in Roxbury. The station was clad in oxidized green copper, and was Victorian in design. The station had a loop for the rapid transit cars, and double loops for the streetcars. This allowed the vehicles to turn around to change direction without stopping. Dudley Street Station opened in 1901. The old elevated portion of the Orange Line was extended from Dudley Street to Forest Hills in 1909.
