The tenth annual Boston GreenFest will take place at Boston City Hall Plaza on Friday through Sunday, August 3-5, 2018. The GreenFest is a three-day festival that showcases earth-friendly and healthy products, while providing free entertainment on multiple stages. At least 100,000 people are expected to attend this year's GreenFest, with more than 225 exhibitors participating.
Boston GreenFest [2014] will kick-off on Friday afternoon with a free concert. There are several artists scheduled to perform from 12 to 10 pm. Eva Sapper will sing the National Anthem at 12 pm and then Olate Dogs, winners of America's Got Talent, will start the show. Other artists will perform until 10 pm.
On Friday and Saturday, all stages are expected to be open from 12 to 10 pm, including the Metro Main Stage, Family Stage, EcoStage and GreenSoule Stage. There are small and large acts throughout the day, with the main acts reserved for the evening. All areas of the festival are operating including EcoPavilions, EcoArt Gallery, EcoFashionShoppe, EcoKids Center, EcoTerrace (21+), BostonGreenFilmFest, MIT FAB LAB, GreenSpeakerSeries, Local Food Emporium, and more.
There will be many free children's activities at the Boston GreenFest including face painting, puppets, magicians, and maybe even a yo-yo show. For adults, there will be exhibits such as: EcoFashionShoppe, featuring the latest styles; Local Food Emporium, offering ethnic, organic, natural and vegetarian foods; EcoTerrace (21+) where individuals can relax with a glass of sustainably crafted wine or beer, enjoy some snacks, listen to the music and have some quiet time with friends and family; EcoBazaar, where one can find many eco-friendly products relating to jewelry, clothing, and other personal and household items; EcoStage where fitness, health, films, guest speakers, etc. will be presented; GreenSoul Stage, where Boston neighborhood talent will perform; and a probable Green Laser Lightshow. A Native-American drum and dance ceremony will close the festival on Sunday starting at 4:25 pm.
Each year there is a One Gallon Challenge of gasoline fueled, renewable energy and hybrid vehicles that drive from various points in Massachusetts to Boston City Hall Plaza on only one gallon of gasoline. The various high-mileage vehicles will arrive at City Hall Plaza at 4 pm on Friday (tentative).
