Bussey Bridge Wreck Photos

Photos of the horrific railroad accident at Bussey Bridge in West Roxbury on  March 14, 1887. 37 people were killed when the bridge collapsed under the 7th through 9th passengers cars of a Boston & Providence train heading to Boston. The wooden coaches were literally splintered into pieces. The cause of the disaster was rusted iron hangers in a poorly designed bridge.
