Adverse Action in Regard to Elevated Railroads.

"The petitions in aid of the remonstrances already sent in against the building of an elevated railroad keep coming in, notwithstanding the fact that the committee has voted nine to one against both the Meigs and Powers schemes. This will probably settle the question of elevated railroads for this session, and the attention of the public will now be called to the question of surface roads."
