South Station MBTA Commuter Rail Letter Home, South Station Awaiting Train

 

This postcard was mailed on April 24, 1924 and destined for Quincy, Massachusetts. The letter on the reverse relates to South Station and waiting for a train:

"Dear Dorothy —

Here I am — sitting in the South Station. In a few minutes I shall start for school where I shall have to work all day. You [can] hunt on the other side of this [card] and see if you can see me.

— Love Steve"

The description of South Station printed on the back of the card is as follows: "South Station, Boston. Located in Dewey Square is occupied by the New York, N.H., & H. R. and the Boston & Albany R.R. This is the greatest railway station in New England and one of the largest in the country."
