A beautiful old Romanesque building stands at Newbury &
Exeter Streets. The building was constructed in 1884 and was originally a
temple for the Working Union Of Progressive Spiritualists. The building was
converted to a theater in 1914, and remained as such until 1984. In the
1970s, weekly midnight screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show
attracted a pretty wild crowd. The building then housed a bookstore, and was
closed for a period due to damage by fire. |
