McCormack Building

A view of the Congress Street side of the McCormack Building in Post Office Square. The building was completed in 1933, and was a Federal Court House and Post Office for many years. It is named in honor of John W. McCormack, Speaker Of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1962 to 1971. A lot of civil right legislation was passed by Congress during his tenure as Speaker.
