The Meigs Railway "Quite a large
party of scientific and financial gentlemen from Boston and elsewhere visited
the Meigs elevated R.R. works on Tuesday last to see the practical working of
the system, which, from present indications, seems likely to be adopted as the
means of rapid transit in this vicinity. Capt. Meigs gave the visitors every
possible facility and from what could be learned from individual expression of
opinion the result was highly satisfactory."
