The Langham Boston is a beautiful five-star hotel located in the heart of Boston’s Financial District. The building was constructed in 1922, and had originally served as the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. The structure is of Italian Renaissance style, modeled after the Palazzo Della Chancellery (Papal Chancellery) building in Rome. The hotel retains much of the ambiance from its origins as a bank, with its granite facade, tall narrow windows on the lower story, and interior elements such as the bank vault which serves as a kitchen today. The lobby areas are adorned with exquisite décor, with features such as equestrian statues and rooms with domed ceilings.
The hotel contains 318 luxurious guestrooms, equipped with Italian-marble floors, granite vanities, and makeup mirrors. Other amenities include pillow-top mattresses, down comforters, spa toiletries, and in-room safes. The rooms also contain mini-bars that are stocked with bon vivant treats and beverages, with high-speed internet access and mp3 adapters, for an additional fee.
The nine-story structure contains a six-story glass atrium, which features an open kitchen with a brick oven. A bar/lounge and a cafe are located in the hotel, and serve fine international cuisine. Langham Boston is located in Post Office Square. The entire financial district is within short walking distance of the hotel. The Old State House, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market, are only about five minutes away by foot. The historic waterfront, with the New England Aquarium, Rowe’s Wharf, Christopher Columbus Park, and the Harborwalk to the Fan Pier, Children's Museum, and Institute of Contemporary Art are only a few minutes walking distance away. Government Center and other downtown areas are also nearby.
